Toromont Cat is looking for Heavy Equipment Shop Technicians

Join our team at Toromont Cat as a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for servicing a particular line of Caterpillar equipment and components in our shop. Your day will include planning, troubleshooting, repairing, and preparing necessary service reports for customers. We are looking for people who are interested in a diverse product range. In a typical day, YOU will:

During your workday, you will:

• Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound, and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont's Health and Safety Policies, Programs, and initiatives
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
• Repair and service Caterpillar and all heavy equipment within the established standards
• Prepare accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner
• Maintain excellent customer relations through frequent communication
• Undertake assignments as required in support of customer needs

Must-haves for this role:

To excel in this role, you need:

• Post-Secondary education in a field related to heavy equipment mechanics, truck and coach mechanics, diesel engine mechanics, or a related field of mechanics
• Minimum 3 years of working experience as a Technician on heavy equipment (mining equipment a huge asset)
• 421A license a valued asset
