What you will do
Help us attract and hire best talent! Det'on Cho Group of Companies is seeking an individual who passionate about people to join our team as the HR Coordinator, Recruitment. This role focuses on variety of HR administrative duties, including facilitating daily HR functions like posting jobs ads, keeping track of employees' records, and supporting the interview process and onboarding. This role also involves performing tasks with a focus on growing our company's talent pipeline and improving our sourcing tactics.
A Day in the Life
Reporting to the Vice President, People, your job duties include:
- Draft job descriptions, job postings and interview question questionnaires
- Source candidates by using databases and social media.
- Post job ads on professional sites, job sites and social media.
- Participate in candidate sourcing efforts such as job fairs and career events.
- Assist hiring Managers with evaluating and screening resumes and cover letters.
- Conduct initial phone screens and provide a shortlist of qualified candidates to hiring managers.
- Coordinate with the hiring manager and schedule calls and interviews,
- Manage calendars for all hiring teams and candidates.
- Use recruiting tools like tests and assignments to assess candidates' skills.
- Conduct phone, MS Teams and/or in-person interviews.
- Help the hiring team with recruiting methods and interview questions.
- Communicate with candidates promptly and assist them when they come in for interviews.
- Use recruiting software to keep track of open roles.
- Send out all bulk emails like confirming receipt of applications, rejection emails and new hire handle paperwork.
- Coordinate background checks and credentials review.
- Promote positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
- Contact new employees and prepare onboarding sessions.
- Prepare new hire paperwork that meets legislative requirements.
- Maintain a complete record of interviews and new hires.
- Invest in continuous learning, stay up to date with current recruiting methods, and attend HR conferences.
- Utilize HRIS to record and update employee information.
- Provide backup for other HR functions.
What You Bring
- HR Education or equivalent (certificate/diploma/degree) will be nice to have.
- Familiarity with privacy laws
- Willing to pursue Registered Professional Recruiter certification.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and complete projects within the deadline.
- Hands-on experience with various selection processes like phone interviews and reference checks
- Ability to conduct different types of interviews and willing to learn.
- Experience screening and evaluating candidates through various interviewing methods will be an asset.
- Computers Skills are required to work with the Applicant Tracking Systems and resume databases.
- Familiarity with social media recruiting
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be accepted.
- Familiarity with Yellowknives Dene language, culture and way of life would be considered assets.
