AtkinsRéalis has an exciting full-time career opportunity for a Senior Power System Study Engineer.

Location: Burnaby, BC or Calgary, AB .

Your role within the team:

  • Define the scope and budget for power system studies mandates.
  • Perform/review following Power systems studies:
    • Substation grounding & lightning studies.
    • Substation Bus studies
    • Electromagnetic Transient Studies
    • AC interference on pipelines and railway infrastructure from power lines and substation ground grids
    • Cable Sizing Studies.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings.
  • Must have excellent command over following Software tools: CDEGS, ETAP, WinIGS, CYMCAP, ASPEN OneLiner and PSCAD.
  • Planning, scheduling, and estimation and engineering coordination with other disciplines.
  • Attend design review and constructability meetings with customers and represent system studies discipline.
  • Mentor Junior resources in use of power system software modeling and conducting studies.

The ideal candidate:

  • Self-starter with 8+ years of experience in power system studies.
  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Registered PEng with EGBA or APEGA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • SES Tech CDEGS Level II or III certification is an asset.
  • Working knowledge in AutoCAD, MicroStation, PSS/E, PowerFactory DigSILENT is an asset.
  • Hand on experience with soil resistivity, Ground impedance measurements, power quality measurements, is an asset

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $93,400 - $141,200 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
