We currently have an exciting part-time Occupational Therapist position at Sun Pointe, our community, providing Independent Living, Assisted Living and Long-Term care.

In addition to your exceptional qualities, you hold a degree in Occupational Therapy and are registered with a governing body in British Columbia or equivalent.
About The Role
* This is a permanent part-time position at 29.9 hours per week
Provides work direction and supervision to the Rehabilitation Assistant
Contributes to the Musculo Skeletal Injury Prevention Program by participating as a member of the OHS Team to review Team Member incident/accident reports and incident report trends and providing input to risk identification and reduction.
Plans and presents in-services to promote Musculo Skeletal injury prevention for Team members and residents
Promotes by example and by assisting Team Members with awareness of safe transfer and lifting techniques, including correct usage of transfer and lifting equipment.
Provide consultation and support to Team Members returning to work post-WCB injury as required.
Promotes ergonomic consideration in the physical planning of work and living space.
Monitors and evaluates the performance of the Rehabilitation Assistant on an ongoing basis.
Provides assessment, consultation and recommendations regarding resident mobility equipment needs and risk management
Offers therapy / therapeutic programs to residents.
Encourages Residents and Team Members to seek professional services or access community resources as appropriate.
Promotes residents' ability to choose/manage risk.
Must Haves
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy with 3-5 years of OT experience in senior care or bachelor's degree with equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience using progressive and innovative approaches to gerontological rehabilitation and strength maintenance.
Current registration with a governing body in British Columbia

What You Receive
Compensation aligns with the Health Sciences Professionals Grade II Grid 9, as per the Health Sciences Association, ranging from $41.32 to $51.40, a comprehensive benefits package and vacation.
