Position Description As a critical member of the Project Management Office, the successful candidate for this position will be responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, conducting material take-offs and ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Construction Estimators must aggressively follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received and work with the Project Manager to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business. Responsibilities: # Bid Administration # Review and understand engineered drawings # Determine construction methodology and work breakdown structure to best complete the project # Determine sequential activities to create a construction schedule # Solicit and maintain communication with subcontractors and vendors # Prepare subcontractor bid packages Project Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the scope for specific trades assigned Develops RFI's and clarifications to clients for further required knowledge to build offer Follow-up & Closing: # Consistently follow up on submitted bids and budgets with Project Manager/Supervisor to close business # Determine lessons learned from the existing process and feedback from clients Position Requirements: Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal Certification in estimating is an asset Bid 2 Win or bid software experience and training is an asset Experience in estimating bridge construction is an asset Post-secondary certificate, diploma or designation in a related field #J-18808-Ljbffr
