Summary
Within Enerflex Water Solutions, an Enerflex Company, the Senior Process Engineer has experience in the Oil industry related to all produced water treatment operations. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for water-related process studies, preparation of process flow diagrams, design and engineering involving simulations, design calculations, equipment sizing, Start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting. With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position will be based at our Calgary Water Solutions location.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Understand client requirements and specifications for water treatment packages.
  2. Have a good understanding of major primary, secondary and tertiary-produced water treatment systems such as; flotation, oil-water separation, de-oiling, skimming, filtration, and softening.
  3. Familiarity with the industrial water treatment systems.
  4. Knowledge of working principles of various chemicals utilized in the water treatment industry.
  5. Familiar with two-phase and three-phase separation studies, flow simulations.
  6. Conceptual knowledge of CFD studies is preferable.
  7. Preparation of Technical Proposals and support preparation of RFQs.
  8. Execute Feasibility Studies, Conceptual Design, and Process Studies.
  9. Design basis and simulation studies for standard products and packages.
  10. Development of PFD, Material balance, and P&IDs.
  11. Prepare process descriptions, control narratives, safeguarding narratives, and operating manuals.
  12. Design Calculations such as; line sizing, equipment sizing, gas consumption calculations, pump hydraulics and preparation of related equipment and instrument data sheets.
  13. Represent EWS at Design review, HAZOP and SIL review meetings with the client, and conduct internal HAZOP reviews.
  14. Support the Project Manager, proposals and project engineering team on all technical requirements for assigned projects.
  15. Interdisciplinary support to Static, Instrumentation, Electrical, Rotary and Quality Assurance teams.
  16. Ensure the deliverables provided to the project are technically accurate, within scope, and in compliance with quality procedures and project plans.
  17. Support R&D activities in the shop, collect data, and observations, analyze lab results, and prepare a technical report for the tests.
  18. Preparation of plant operating manual.
  19. Troubleshooting and field support during the commissioning phase.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with either a P.Eng. or EIT status recognized by APEGA, or an equivalent status with regulatory bodies in other Canadian provinces.
Minimum 12 to 15 years of relevant process engineering experience.
Produced Water treatment units experience is required in the design, commissioning, or operation stage.
Strong and broad knowledge of engineering; well-versed in inter-discipline workflow.
Be available for International travel including site visits.
Proactively identifies and recommends areas for process improvement within the organization.
Adept at writing technical reports and scopes of work.
Excellent writing and communications skills; able to represent the company in Client and Supplier meetings.
Proficient with MS Office software and various engineering software programs.
Collaboration with the project team to determine and achieve project objectives.
Creative mindset for new product development
Proactively identifies and recommends areas for process improvement within the organization.
