ELECTRICAL ENGINEER IN TRAINING

We are looking for students in Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team in British Columbia. This position will be based out of Burnaby and will require travel throughout British Columbia and other provinces when necessary for project support.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform electrical analysis and design in both the industrial and utility sectors
  2. Protective relaying design and integration (SEL, GE, Siemens, Schneider, etc.)
  3. Industrial/Utility substation automation (SEL RTAC, RTU, HMI, Communications, etc.)
  4. Conduct electrical studies including short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, load flow, grounding, and harmonic studies
  5. Creation/modification/review/approval of electrical drawing packages: single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and general arrangements.
  6. Electrical distribution system design and modifications: MCC's, switchgear, breakers, fuses, switches, transformers, capacitor banks, current transformers, potential transformers, protective relays and controls.
  7. Troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions to correct deficiencies in electrical systems
  8. Opportunity to support field services division for maintenance and commissioning activities on customer sites.
  9. Onsite engineering inspections and data collection
Qualifications:

A four-year Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
Understanding of industrial/utility protection and relay system.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (CEC, IEEE1584).
Experience with electrical engineering software such as EasyPower, SKM and ETAP considered an asset.
Understanding of microprocessor-based relays and their capabilities considered an asset
Must possess a valid driver's license and clean abstract as fieldwork will be a requirement of this position.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Pay Scale:

$35 to $50 depending on experience

Overtime after 8 hours, Double time after 10 hours
