As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer/Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of our systems by: Working closely with other Engineering teams to support the electrical and controls commissioning of our systems. Developing and implementing efficient and standardized procedures for factory and site commissioning. Engaging in detailed electrical commissioning planning. Testing and commissioning innovative clean technology solutions. On average, your work will be 30% at customer sites and 70% at our headquarters. Field shifts generally require 2-3 weeks at site, followed by a similar time at headquarters. Further afield locations may require longer periods at site. As such, you will gain industrial system testing and commissioning skills while being trained and mentored by project managers and senior leaders to become a subject matter expert. You must have a valid passport and be able to travel to customer sites internationally. A diploma or degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering Technology or equivalent with 2 - 4 years of relevant post-graduation working experience as an Electrical Engineer/Technologist. Familiarity with industrial safety standards regarding mechanically and electrically energized systems. Proficiency and hands-on experience in electrical installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, including power and control panel set up, testing, and diagnostics. Knowledge of common industrial electrical hardware components and the ability to navigate the catalog of major manufacturers for parts such as enclosures, disconnects, circuit breakers, etc. Basic knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and its application. Ability to read electrical documents and drawings, including panel layout schematics, single line/wiring diagrams, cable pull sheet and list, and communication network architecture. Bonus: working knowledge and familiarity with industrial Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) coding and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). This position also requires these universal skill sets: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain a high quality of work.
