Position: Health and Safety Specialist Type of Employment: Full-Time – Monday to Friday – 40 Hours per week The Health and Safety (H&S) Specialist will leverage their skills and knowledge to maintain a culture of health and safety within all ATS Healthcare facilities. Responsibilities will include developing, implementing and maintaining policies, conducting inspections and providing safety training to employees. As a safety leader, the H&S specialist will stay informed on industry trends and legislative changes and communicate information to relevant stakeholders. Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and programs ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards. Collaborate with training department to develop health and safety focused training programs and provide training and education to employees on safety procedures ensuring comprehension and compliance to policies. Complete documentation resulting from these including worker's compensation requirements. Liaise with medical practitioners and/or WCB's / WSIB in relation to ATS Healthcare's Early Safe Return to Work program. Stay current on industry trends, best practices and regulatory changes related to health and safety and communicate relevant information. Coordinate with external regulatory bodies such as the Labour Program and Workers Compensation Boards ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures, including evacuations protocols, first aid training and crisis management. Review all Change Control documentation to assess any H&S impact/risk. Maintain MSDS documentation for all sites.
