How You'll Be Involved EASTPOINT is seeking a Mechanical Technician for our Halifax office. Reporting to the BIM Manager, you will be an integral part of BIM / Drawing production team, developing and implementing technical solutions in both the office and field. You will participate in preliminary and detailed design phases of projects, through to tendering and construction. Key Responsibilities Production of concept and detailed design drawings, as well as 3D models for infrastructure projects including but not limited to commercial buildings, industrial buildings, and institutional facilities. Review drawings, 3D models. Understand, and apply company/client guidelines and drawing standards to all projects. Coordination of design team activities, direct internal and external project team including Revit/CAD technicians and sub-consultants. Assist project managers and design leads by providing insight into how the BIM team workflow and procedures are designed to work within a project. Skills / Training Requirements ~ Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline from an accredited university or college. Advanced degrees or certifications in sustainable design or energy management are an asset. ~2 years' applicable experience. ~ Proficient in the use of Revit and AutoCAD. ~ Knowledge in the use of other software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. ~ Knowledge of building mechanical systems (HVAC, Plumbing, etc.)~ A strong focus on drawing production and the importance of presentation and consistency. ~ Ability to work in a sometimes fast-paced environment while still maintaining a focus on procedures and quality of work. ~ Understand the importance of company/client standards and procedures. ~ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. ~ Strong verbal and written communication skills. ~ Demonstrated self-starter. ~ All successful applicants must meet requirements to obtain a minimum of Reliability Status clearance through the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD) within 6 months of start date.
