Overview: The Product Regulatory Affairs Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Product Regulatory Affairs Manager to ensure Trophy compliance related to label packaging, specification accuracy and formulation/Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy and meeting all customer requirements by their specified deadlines.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Finished Product Specifications & Customer Portals:

  • & update specs for Trophy branded and private label.
  • specification folders and specification change control log per SKU.
  • data into customer web portals and complete customer surveys.
  • and maintain a specification library.
  • QA or other teams with inquiries related to finished product specifications and/or labels.
  • the creation of product profiles.
  • sample submission documentation for external lab nutrition analysis/claims validation.

Label Review:

  • set of regulatory eyes in the art review process.
  • new incoming packaging to ensure it meets requirements.

Genesis:

  • new ingredients, product WIPs, and FG into the database.
  • raw material supplier data is accurate and up to date (review supplier documentation, including ingredient list/nutritional/% composition and maintain database).
  • Genesis Recipes to ensure they match current formulations.
  • label information – ingredient and allergen for Canada and US, nutritional (verify serving sizes are accurate per RA/RACC).
  • lab nutrition analysis results.
  • GS1 label information.

Case Labels – Labelview/Foxjet/Colos :

  • up and maintain all labels – shipping case labels, bulk product labels, warehouse ASN/DC pallet tag label templates.
  • up labels for liquidation products.

Regulatory Records:

  • specification log per SKU for BRC requirements.
  • Bioengineering – raw material supplier statement review, WIP review, FG review for all US products & maintain log for compliance.
  • product documentation to support product claims certification – Kosher/NGPV/GFCP/Organic/Sustainability/Responsible sourcing programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by Product Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Experience, Qualifications, and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the food industry in a Regulatory/QA/PD role.
  • Ideally have a Food Regulations and Labelling Certificate for Canada and/or USA.
  • Knowledge of Canadian and USA Food Labeling Regulations including Food & Drug Act and Regulations, Consumer Packaging & Labeling Act & Regulations, Nutrition Labeling Regulations, Canadian Organic Standards, Kosher Standard, and other procedure manuals dealing with Food Laws (domestic and foreign).
  • Must be competent in using standard computer software packages including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
  • Must be competent in using Genesis R&D or other food nutrition/label software, Labelview.
  • Demonstrates strong research skills.
  • Bilingual (English/French) would be a definite asset.
