We are currently seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Bids and Tenders team in Mississauga! Set-up Cost Work Break-Down Structures (WBS) for complex heavy civil/transportation projects. Develop direct cost estimates based on project specifications, drawings and addenda. Prepare general accounts/indirect cost estimates. Develop cost unit rates from basic principles by making use of labour, equipment and material resources. Generate Labour unit rates in compliance with the labour wage requirements of project locations. Prepare and update complete construction budgets as projects design progresses. Generate alternate price for value engineering scope elements for the projects. Prepare tender summary sheets and cash flows. Participate in design workshops during the project's design development in order to provide cost/construction input. Source, liaise with and manage best value subcontractors and suppliers, collaborating with the Procurement team. Ensure subcontractors are in compliance with AIC operational and technical requirements. Identify and set-up subcontractors/vendor's packages for the procurement team. Analyze subcontractors/vendors quotes and prepare comparison sheets. Update estimate based on analyzed pricing received from the local market. Develop safe, efficient, cutting edge construction methods Accumulate, evaluate, and document historical cost data. Research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field Demonstrated experience working on large Design/Build, P3 civil (roads, bridges and tunnels) projects Working knowledge of Estimating and Quantity Take-Off software General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control and material pricing required.
