Hays has partnered with an integrated local firm registered in Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan who are actively looking for a Intern Architect/ Designer to join their growing team. This firm has considerable experience on a wide variety of building types of varying scale and complexity, with a commitment to high quality innovative design. As the Intern Architect/ Designer you will be working closely with the team to assist in the design, development, and construction of various projects including commercial, institutional, industrial, hospitality and residential. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and development of projects
  • Create 3D models and prepare drawings and plans
  • Conduct research on materials, building codes, and regulations
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Attend meetings with clients and other stakeholders
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and proposals
  • Contribute to the development of project schedules and budgets
  • Assist in the coordination of construction documents and specifications

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of prior experience, local experience in similar project typology to the firm strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
  • AAA registration is a strong asset, but not required
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Twinmotion, Enscape and Lumion
  • Knowledge of local building codes, bylaws, and construction methods
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • High level of creativity, innovative thinking and problem solving skills

The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package of $60,000 - $75,000 + bonus (based on performance) extended benefits, paid parking and flexible work hours.
