We are currently looking to fill a permanent full-time position for a Commodity Coordinator for our Commodity Department at our Leamington, ON location. The Commodity Coordinator determines the allocation of product at the distribution center—whether it be to our customers or to the packing team. This position views order requirements and cross-references current inventory, inbound grower product, and inbound purchased product to determine rework, build, and shipment requirements on a daily/weekly basis. Manage inventory by making use of FIFO, LIFO and FEFO methods. Ensure proper rotation is being followed by shipping and repack departments, communicate issues in daily inventory meetings. Look at all product to determine quality grade before allocating it to sale orders and work orders. Strategize with Production Scheduler for production planning based on current overall quality and supply. Review IB transfers, POs, returns, and grower packing to determine allocations. Evaluate daily truck ETAs to ensure allocated product will meet these times. In the case of late trucks, communicate this to the CM/Shipping team during the Daily operations meetings. Look at all product on a daily basis when evaluating and planning allocations. With the assistance of the Commodity Manager, develop creative solutions when roadblocks present themselves. Provide Commodity Manager with daily push list on extra and problematic inventory. Coordinate daily with Commodity Managers on growers packing schedules. Resolve after hours allocation and quality issues as required. Previous experience in a produce warehouse setting considered an asset. Experience working with Excel and MS Dynamics Nav (or other ERP systems) considered an asset. Ability to work in a fast environment by multitasking and prioritizing work while being attentive to details and quality. A valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle are required. Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and extended hours if needed. Fast paced warehouse environment where temperatures vary from cooler to temperature-controlled areas. These include guest workers, locals, and vendors, etc. Full time hours Monday to Friday with Saturdays and holidays (as needed).
