Epson's Vancouver Design Center (VDC) is a global leader in the development and support of semiconductor and quartz-based sensing devices targeted towards low power computing solutions. Our engineering team, with extensive IC, FPGA, MATLAB, and system level experience, have been delivering products to our customers since 1990. We currently focus on Display (Automotive & Embedded Markets), MCU and Sensing solutions. In partnership with other Seiko Epson technology, marketing, and sales groups worldwide, VDC is playing a key role in these exciting, emerging markets. Epson is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager for our hardware design team. We are seeking an energetic and strong communicator that is interested and capable of both people management as well as technical leadership. The selected person will be responsible for building, growing, and leading a world-class team of engineers to create cutting edge technology solutions for industrial/automotive sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hardware design, from concept development to production, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and reliability. Lead and manage a team of hardware engineers in the design and development of automotive and embedded hardware solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineering, product management, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of hardware components into overall product designs. Establish and maintain design processes and best practices to ensure efficient and effective execution of hardware development projects. Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver high-quality hardware designs on schedule and within budget. Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in hardware design for automotive and embedded systems, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects from concept to production. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve excellence. Deep technical expertise in hardware design principles, including digital and analog circuit design, MATLAB/Simulink development, and signal integrity analysis. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges. Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects.
