Company Description Engcomp is an engineering and decision analysis services provider based in Saskatoon, SK. We specialize in serving Western Canada's heavy industrial sector and offer comprehensive engineering solutions for full project delivery. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Saskatoon, SK, with the flexibility for some remote work. We are seeking a Junior/Intermediate Electrical Technologist to join our team. As an Electrical Technologist, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of electrical projects across various industries. From concept to execution, your knowledge and enthusiasm will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems and components. Design and Drafting: Collaborate with engineers and designers to create detailed electrical schematics, drawings, and layouts using CAD software. Translate engineering concepts into practical designs for electrical systems, equipment, and components. Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to identify and resolve issues related to functionality, performance, and compliance with specifications. Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to analyze circuitry, wiring, and components. Installation and Commissioning: Assist with the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems and equipment in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. Ensure proper integration and functionality of electrical components within larger systems. Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, manuals, and reports, to document design specifications, testing procedures, and project progress. Maintain accurate records of project activities, changes, and revisions. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations in all aspects of design, installation, and operation. Implement safety protocols and best practices to mitigate risks and promote a safe working environment. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, and project managers, to coordinate project activities and achieve project objectives. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to address technical issues and ensure project success. Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field. ~1 - 9 years of experience in electrical design, drafting, testing, and maintenance. ~ Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for electrical design and drafting. ~ Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE) and experience with electrical systems integration. ~ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex electrical systems and troubleshoot issues. ~ Experience working in the consulting field with practice in design, drafting and 3D CAD is essential. Heavy industrial exposure would also be an asset, especially in the area of mining and, more specifically, potash mining and/or uranium mining .Additional experience with instrumentation and controls would be considered an asset. Specialized experience in the following software would also be considered an asset; AutoCAD (2D and 3D), Microsoft Access & Office, and VBA.
