Amir Group consists of Amir Specialty Poultry, a chicken slaughterhouse located in Arthur, Ontario, and Amir Quality Meats, a wholesale meat production company located in Brampton, Ontario. We are currently seeking a QA Technician for the Arthur location who is enthusiastic, driven, and an outside-the-box thinker to contribute to the growth of our business. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail, dependable multitasking skills, and the ability to work quickly under pressure in a demanding and fast-paced environment. All duties are performed in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP standards, and workplace health and safety standards. The Q/A technician is responsible for monitoring and implementing proactive measures in a fast pace slaughter-house which will guarantee quality assurance of our processes and consequently our products; thus, enabling ASP to meet our customer promises and corporate targets. Job Description: Reporting to the QA Manager, Assess manufacturing processes to ensure they fully comply with all industry and regulatory standards. Assess all quality processes and procedures (including GMP, HACCP) are fully compliant with industry and regulatory standards. Measure if production teams are following processes and complying with all ASP regulatory standards. Measure if all production processes are understood & utilized by employees. Routinely monitor material inventory and implement first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles. Measure the cleanliness of the line and surrounding areas; if required, take action. Measure if production targets and quality goals are met daily; if required, inform Production supervisor or Plant manager. Inform & notify the HACCP Coordinator/QA Manager of any deviations from standards... Initiate and lead problem solving initiatives if GAPs are raised. Complete all checklists and production records and forms correctly in a timely manner. Attend production and other meetings, as required to share information or understand production issues. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge Ontario's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) regulations and compliance requirements. Minimum 3 years of experience in a food safety/quality assurance role in the food industry. Certification in HACCP and Internal Auditing. Understanding of Canadians Regulations and GFSI schemes. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, varying shifts, and holiday work, as required. Willing and able to work in a cold environment. Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin, both verbal and written. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Team player who is comfortable collaborating with other departments but also working independently. Comfortable working in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment.
