Business legal name: Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. 20 Carlson Court, Suite 105 Toronto, Ontario M9W 7K6 Tunnel Heavy Equipment Operator NOC: NOC 73400 – Heavy Equipment Operators Office Location: Work is located at 1 Holt Road South, Bowmanville, Ontario, L1C 3Z8 and other offices in the Greater Toronto Area Terms of Employment: This is a full-time, permanent position Employment Conditions: Day, Morning, Evening, Rotational Shift Work Travel will be required to Aecon's sites throughout Canada Language: Must speak, read, and write in English The Tunnel Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating equipment to support tunnel logistics (such as PCTL, grease, pipes…) or other tunneling equipment (shotcrete sprayer/jumbo) on the DNNP Project. Specifically, the Tunnel Heavy Equipment Operator will: · Excavate tunnel headings; · Move materials onto cars or trucks per requirements; · Move levers to control the machine's movement on narrow gauge tracks; · Activate buckets or scrapers that scoop up or dig into materials and deposit these into · Sweep the materials from the sides and bottom on the tunnel heading and deposit · practical training, classroom or simulation; working knowledge of English. Work experience · MOL's required basic safety awareness training; · 2-3 years' experience utilizing heavy tunnel equipment including Scoop Trams, MSV and excavator · 2-3 years' experience of construction industry experience in tunnel operation roles across large projects · 2-3 years' experience operating machinery to remove earth materials, excavate tunnel headings and deposit materials accordingly · 2-3 years' experience providing mucking services and ensuring the removal of materials on large projects 53 per hour. Shift workers will receive a shift premium in addition to their regular hourly rate. Employees/Tunnel Operators will be required to become members of Labourers International Union of North America, Local 183. (5 hours/week and subject to overtime · Employees/Members of Local 183 receive Vacation & Statutory Holiday Pay, Health & Welfare Benefits, Pension etc. 55 per hour (not including Supervisor Premium) Project, training and business-related travel may be required. · Exposure to construction work site environment in all seasons · Relocation within Canada may be required.
