The Manager, Production is responsible for the inspection and maintenance of tracks, roadbed and right away, in accordance with the sound engineering practices and approved railway standards, specifications, procedures and budgets and within the CN operating plan. The position is considered a developmental role prior to moving to the Senior Manager, Engineering position. People Management · Provide clear direction on employee performance and department goals and objectives · Carry regular efficiency testing and safety walkabouts · Identify quality control conditions requiring action to meet Engineering Track Standards Production Activities · Handle production activities such as work block planning and compliance with the Transportation team · The role will be primarily performed outdoors (80%) in various types of weather and environmental conditions and partially performed in an office environment (20%). Bachelor's Degree in Engineering**Any designation for these above would be considered as an asset Technical Skills/Knowledge · Knowledge of the Canadian Rail Operating Rules · Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal (English, French)· Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)· Knowledge of Track Inspection System (TIS), Systems Applications and Products (SAP) and Train Management Dispatch System (TMDS) Essential to the economy, to the customers, and to the communities it serves, CN safely transports more than 300 million tons of natural resources, manufactured products, and finished goods throughout North America every year.
