We are recruiting a Lead Layout Designer to join our Mining and Metals line in the Toronto/Burlington office. Leading a design team on mining projects, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination among team members. Ensuring that design documentation is comprehensive, organized, and easily accessible for project stakeholders. Prepare mechanical layouts: study level and detail drawings in line with project requirements. Development of mechanical layouts in Smart Plant an asset. Produce relevant layout deliverables such as design criteria, design drawings, and reports. Deliver design drawings according to project-specific design criteria and defined regulations, codes, and standards. Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members to account for standards. Control and monitor layout budget hours and manpower loading and provide forecasts. Comply with all of Ausenco corporate policies and procedures by adopting Ausenco Quality Assurance and Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies, procedures and requirements. Mechanical Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent. 15 year's relevant experience in Mechanical Layout and design drafting of Mineral Processing Plants within a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment. Experience in layout design for studies and projects. Ability to design AutoCAD, Prostructures 2d and 3d. Smartplant is an asset. Able to use vendor data, drawings and information to develop and verify the model. Experience in brownfield, greenfield & international projects. Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations and codes relating to the design and systems for projects.
