We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, consolidation, and controllership processes, with a focus on building robust reporting frameworks and procedures. This role will involve working closely with multiple entities, including those in the United States and Canada, and will require exceptional communication skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of financial reporting, consolidation, and controllership processes.
  • Establish and maintain efficient reporting frameworks and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage the consolidation of financial data from multiple entities, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executive management and board members.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and development.
  • Participate in treasury activities, including cash flow management and forecasting.
  • Prepare presentations and decks for board meetings and other stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (Canadian GAAP, IFRS).
  • Support the transition to private equity ownership, if applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting and consolidation.
  • Experience working with multiple entities and jurisdictions, preferably in the United States and Canada.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian GAAP and/or IFRS; knowledge of US GAAP is a plus.
  • Previous experience in industries with heavy reporting requirements, particularly those transitioning to private equity ownership, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • Experience in public accounting or a mix of public accounting and industry experience is preferred.
