Our client is searching for an Accounting Manager to join their growing organization. Construction is an industry that drives the Edmonton economy, and this opportunity will give a confident, proactive, extroverted financial leader an opportunity to provide valuable input to the business activities. This role will be responsible for guiding financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures, A successful candidate will protect company assets and provide relevant and timely information to senior management.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Manage full cycle accounting, cash flow (and treasury functions in general), budgets, forecasting, variance analysis, project reporting and getting into the details like journal entries and account reconciliations when needed.
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Liaise with outside auditors for year end
- Be the lead for all financial functions when dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead the insurance renewal process
- Prepare and process statutory filings and remittances
- Ensure the finance team members meet all financial reporting deadlines
- Oversee accounts payable and review invoices, required documents and payments to vendors
- Manage accounts receivable, post cash receipts and follow up with Project Managers and customers to make sure payment is received in a timely manner
- Manage payroll processing
- Manage and support corporate credit cards
- Assist the Operations staff with day-to-day requests, help them understand cost reports and work with the team to make sure all processes are being followed
- Maintain the ERP system in relation to Finance and Operations
- Provide ERP training to other staff members as required
Your strengths include:
- CPA designation
- 5+ years of experience in senior accounting role
- Outstanding leadership skills, ready to mentor and coach direct reports
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Sound organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Work in Progress exposure
- Excellent analytical skills
