One of our esteemed clients in the real estate asset management sector is on the lookout for a Senior Property Accountant. This role is pivotal in supporting their rapidly growing portfolio and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the finance and accounting team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial operations of a dedicated portfolio of properties.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct full-scope accounting activities for a designated portfolio of properties.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial and management reports.
• Ensure the integrity of the general ledger, including the execution of month-end accounting operations.
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including bank and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable processes specific to property management, ensuring efficient transaction processing.
• Implement and adapt accounting standards, facilitating ongoing process improvements.
• Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Actively contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
• Participate in a variety of ad-hoc projects as directed by the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• 3-4 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in real estate or property management.
• CPA designation or nearing completion.
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities, thriving in high-pressure scenarios.
• Advanced Excel skills and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies.
• An inquisitive mindset with a profound interest in deciphering financial metrics and operational insights.
• Detail-oriented, with a comprehensive understanding of IFRS accounting principles.
• Superior interpersonal abilities, capable of fostering relationships and communicating effectively at all organizational levels.
• Experience with Yardi or similar real estate-focused ERP systems is highly beneficial.
