The Finance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Finance Administrator in the following tasks and responsibilities. Maintaining financial, accounting, and personnel services to meet legislative requirements and support all BNRC operations.
SCOPE
The Finance Assistant reports to the Finance Administrator and is responsible for assisting the Administrator in preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls, payroll administration, maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2-year college diploma in business or administration AND certification in bookkeeping or financial management
Minimum 3 years recent related experience, ideally with a not-for-profit organization in Canada
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to navigate Quick Books is considered an asset
REMUNERATION
The salary range for this position is between $44,000 to $48,750 per annum.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the administration and monitoring of the BNRC's financial system to ensure that the organizations finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner which includes but is not limited to account and ledger reconciliation and preparation of monthly financial statements.
Assist in the maintenance of benefit records to ensure that employees receive accurate payment of benefits and allowances.
Assist in the provision of financial and bookkeeping support to all BNRC projects and programs to ensure all contract reporting obligations are met and budgets are administered in good standing.
Maintain and develop appropriate slippage and profit and loss reports.
