Who we are looking for:

As the Director, Information Management, reporting to the VP of Information Management and Technology, you are vital in enhancing our data accessibility and utility. You will support efforts to refine our information architecture, activate data, and streamline information flows across applications and data products. Your role involves developing advanced data management plans, integrating DevOps and product management practices, and ensuring data governance. Your strategic insights will maintain high organizational value in Information Management and establish our Data Lakehouse as the primary system of record. You will oversee the creation of impactful data products, including advanced reporting tools, analytical frameworks, and operational models. Your leadership will elevate our data sophistication and effectiveness, aligning with our values of operational excellence and innovation. Your ability to demonstrate the business value of data management and analytics will be crucial in communicating the benefits of data-driven initiatives to all organizational levels, optimizing data management practices, and enhancing decision-making and business outcomes. Your expertise in quantifying data initiatives' ROI is key to securing support for data projects, driving a data-driven culture, and aligning data strategies with business objectives.

What you will do:

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing IM team of over 20 people, building on and enhancing the culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain strong communication with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clear understanding of data initiatives and impacts.
  • Drive the operationalization of analytics, integrating models and algorithms into business processes for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee data product development and global corporate reporting initiatives.
  • Execute on and optimize the enterprise information architecture.
  • Develop and manage strategies for effective data management, positioning the Data Lakehouse as a trustworthy system of record and leveraging it replace, optimize or enhance data flows into applications.
  • Collaborate with various departments to align data services with business goals and quarterly objectives through a value stream approach.
  • Supervise the Data Engineering Centre of Excellence, ensuring use of DevOps and product management principles to improve data services functionality and impact.
  • Champion data democratization initiatives across the organization to improve data literacy and utilization.
  • Lead the organization's AI readiness and implementation, optimizing operations and preparing systems and teams for AI adoption.
  • Monitor budget performance, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Support relationships with technology vendors and service providers and monitor service delivery to optimize value and ensure quality.

What you bring to the table:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Administration or related fields. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data management, data engineering, business intelligence and/or digital transformation, preferably in the automotive or retail sectors.
  • Proven leadership skills with a history of leading high-performance and innovative teams accumulated through at least 10 years of lead/management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies and plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in global corporate reporting and operationalizing analytics.
  • Exceptional communication skills, adept at aligning diverse workstreams with business objectives.
  • Experience in data pipelines, data engineering, and data management principles.
  • Demonstrated understanding of information architecture principles.
  • Experience with product management methodologies, particularly SAFe, and familiarity with DevOps practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry experience in automotive retail or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in data management, product management, or AI technologies.
