Job Description:

The Applications Consultant, reporting to the Manager of I.T. Operations, plays a key role in providing strategic consulting services across the organization. Responsibilities include software upgrades/implementations, interface connectivity for 3rd party applications, and managing all aspects of Office 365 applications. Collaborating with various teams, the consultant identifies, recommends, and implements innovative software solutions. They contribute to defining and implementing I.T. policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring timely project execution. Additionally, the role involves overseeing design, development, and implementation of data integration solutions.

Duites/Responsibilities:

* Provide implementation, operations, upgrades and troubleshooting support of applications.
* Act as primary and secondary subject matter expert for various applications.
* Provide exceptional customer service by accurately and effectively responding to service and incident tickets in the Manage Engine ticketing system and providing follow-up as needed.
* Prioritize requests to ensure that critical requests are addressed based on their severity.
* Actively own, troubleshoot and resolve end user incident requests within established SLAs.
* Develop and maintain training and user troubleshooting documentation for various assigned applications.
* Liaise and work with colleagues (tier 1, 2, and 3 analysts).
* Engage and work with various software vendors for any issues if additional assistance is needed.
* Communicate through the ticketing system with end users and team members to keep apprised of status or next steps.
* Attend project meetings as the Subject Matter Expert or Support for existing/new applications.
* Ensure timely completion of assigned project tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
* Ensure documentation is prepared and presented when moving project to Operational status
* On a rotating basis, as required, be included as part of the applications support team, "on reserve" responding to after-hours issues from IT On Call for Priority 1 and 2 issues.
* Monitor and act on improving quality of service and work processes;
* Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

* Computer Sciences or Information Sciences Diploma (or related field) required
* Computer Science Degree (or related field) preferred
* ITIL Foundation V4 certificated preferred
* 5+ years in an IT environment
* Extensive experience with Microsoft Enterprise applications;
* Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Microsoft Server 2012, Microsoft Server 2014, Windows 7, Windows 10, and Office 365;
* Application support experience with Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, VMware;
* Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
* Recent experience with TCP/IP network interface/Web technology, and Active Directory services and system as it relates to solving basic connectivity problems.
* Experience using MS SQL Server Management Studio and other query tools including ODBC, T-SQL to build extractions, crosswalk tables and administer databases;
* Knowledge of stored procedures, triggers, indexes, data types, table structures, and database design principles;
* Familiar with Enterprise networking and domain concepts including TCPIP and ports, Active Directory objects/permissions;
* Experience with HL7 development platforms/engines (preferably Rhapsody);
* Knowledge of HL7 standards, FHIR, SOAP and RESTful web services;
* Familiar with .NET, VB and Java scripting languages and their application within integration technologies, including:
* Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and legislative compliance;
* Knowledge of ITIL process and practices
* Familiar with Enterprise Architecture
* Experience with centralized Interface Engines;
* Experience designing and documenting specifications from information gathered during business analysis and process reviews using tools such as Visio & MS Office Suite
* Exceptional knowledge of healthcare technology environment (Meditech & EPIC Systems) is an asset;
* Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws;
* Ability to conduct research into software-related issues and products;
* Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Knowledge of the IT Service Management cycle - Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, etc. is an asset
* Superior verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language;
* The capacity to mentor and direct others and the ability to present and offer education sessions;
* Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills;
* Highly self-motivated and directed;
* Flexible and adaptable in regard to learning and understanding new technologies;
* Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment,
