Maintenance Mechanic

Salary: $23 to $31/hour + Benefits

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for its Markham facility, located at 121 McPhereson St and our Airport location at 9050 Airport Rd, Brampton. The individual must be flexible to work all shifts.

Responsibilities:

1. Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines
2. Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards
3. Adjust machine components, machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product
4. Regulate machine flow or speed
5. Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a Supervisor
6. Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material
7. Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides
8. Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn't sticking properly
9. Perform preventative maintenance on packaging lines as the schedule requires
10. Repair areas in the facility that require attention as per work orders
11. Train Machine Operators
12. Assist with production on lines as required
13. Able to source & order parts through online maintenance program
14. Other duties as assigned

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

Entry Level: 1-2 years of experience

Mid to Senior Level: 5 to 10 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging (i.e. shrink wrapping, overwrapping and cartoning)

Education Background: Engineering/Technical Education background

Certifications: Forklift or Scissor Lift certification is an asset

IMPORTANT: Licensed Millwright not required
