Maintenance Mechanic
Salary: $23 to $31/hour + Benefits

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for its Markham facility, located at 121 McPhereson St and our Airport location at 9050 Airport Rd, Brampton. The individual must be flexible to work all shifts.
Responsibilities:- Set up and troubleshoot packaging machines and lines
- Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards
- Adjust machine components, machine tension and pressure according to size or processing angle of product
- Regulate machine flow or speed
- Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a Supervisor
- Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material
- Clean, oil, and make minor adjustments or repairs to machinery and equipment, such as opening valves or setting guides
- Monitor the production line, watching for problems such as pile-ups, jams, or glue that isn't sticking properly
- Perform preventative maintenance on packaging lines as the schedule requires
- Repair areas in the facility that require attention as per work orders
- Train Machine Operators
- Assist with production on lines as required
- Able to source & order parts through online maintenance program
- Other duties as assigned
Entry Level: 1-2 years of experience
Mid to Senior Level: 5 to 10 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or Mechanic specializing in secondary packaging (i.e. shrink wrapping, overwrapping and cartoning)
Education Background: Engineering/Technical Education background
Certifications: Forklift or Scissor Lift certification is an asset
IMPORTANT: Licensed Millwright not required
