The opportunity

The Senior Product Manager, Deposits, is accountable for articulating the vision and defining the strategy for CWB's deposit and liquidity product portfolio! This includes portfolios across our retail and business accounts, implementing new initiatives and seamlessly enhancing, and leading ongoing activities related to the product portfolio.

This role will be responsible for making recommendations to senior leaders and executives for changes to rates that impact $26 billion in deposit balances. The objective of this role is to collaborate closely with leaders in Treasury and the front line to enhance the bank's net interest margin, attract and retain lower cost operating deposits and reduce risk across the product portfolio.

What you'll be doing

This position will influence and contribute to CWB's strategic plan that supports the organizations growth and profitability.

Strategy .
  • Develop and lead various components of the deposit strategy and tactical roadmap for CWB, to drive franchise deposit growth and profitability.

  • Build influential cases and recommendations that clearly articulate the value proposition, balances economic benefit/risk/demand, and speed to market/constraints.

  • Stay informed on industry leading practices and trends, incorporating an external market lens and being mindful of regulatory requirements and developments to support portfolio optimization, and business and funding mix strategies.

Execution .
  • Support and, when required, lead all aspects of complex, enterprise level initiatives through the product lifecycle and provide high-quality results on time and on budget.

  • Put the client at the heart of all product development by building solutions that deliver a consistent, streamlined user experience across product sets.

Product Management.
  • Contribute to successful P&L for assigned deposit and liquidity products, constantly seeing opportunities to enhance revenue and minimize costs.

  • Continually review key product and performance measurements to capitalize on market opportunities, assess success of product offering, identify actions necessary and lead corrective actions.

  • Client pricing, setting critical metrics, and exception handling and monitoring processes, including assessing, and implementing longer-term solutions with technology vendors to improve the overall tracking, pricing and billing of franchise deposits across the CWB Financial Group.

Leadership.
  • Possess a level of confidence and expertise to make knowledgeable, impactful decisions quickly, balancing risk and trade-offs, and remain accountable for those decisions.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams applying exceptional strategic thinking, influence, and negotiation skills to manage scope, remove barriers and navigate roadblocks.

Who we're looking for & what you've done

  • Seven (7) to Nine (9) years of proven experience in product development and management (or related fields).

  • Bachelor's degree with experience managing deposits and liquidity products, the calculation of cost and value of funds, transfer pricing and competitors' products and services.

  • Experience in establishing partnerships and forming relationships with internal teams such as marketing, sales, digital, information services, treasury, legal, compliance, etc.

  • Client first obsession and dedication.

  • Results oriented and data driven with strong analytical abilities, both qualitative and quantitative.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate sophisticated business and technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff, tailoring messages and stories to the appropriate audience.

  • Strong organization and time management skills with a high level of attention to accuracy and details.

  • Able to think laterally and find innovative solutions to support strategy.

  • Able to influence and collaborate with partners with diverse points of view and build consensus as well as to establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of partners quickly.

  • Strong interpersonal abilities, excellent teammate, self-directed and resourceful, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
