About the Role

This senior position is accountable for providing Finance advice and project management to the operatorship transformation to turn LNG Canada into a Business Unit ran completely independent from its owners. This role covers full finance support to ensure optimal process and system infrastructure appropriate to the scale and purpose of the LNG Canada Venture. This role needs to balance cost and value optimization with a tight control framework required to operate in compliance with financial and venture specific requirements and controls.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Lead effective discussions to drive value-based business processes and systems architecture.
  • Champions change management in both the LNGC organization, as well as the partner organizations currently delivering services to LNG Canada.
  • Define the change to bring offshore SBO services to an onshore organisation.
  • Ensure project performance management (budget, schedule), and appraisal processes are in place.
  • Accountable for the integrity of the solutions and alignment with JVP assurance.
  • Provide regular updates to a wide audience including senior executive levels of venture partners and service providers.
  • Custodian of the risk-based financial and business control framework and mandatory processes & standards alignment resulting from a project on a fit for purpose basis.
  • Work with other functions to enhance procedures and governance with a focus on finance processes.

To be successful, you will have:

  • University level education with a degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in broad Finance/Accounting roles.
  • Demonstrated project management skill
  • Experience in operating a venture ideally with a role responsible for Finance Operational processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and ambiguous environment with varying stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, in a multi-dimensional team environment and with all levels of the organization. Fast paced, externally driven organization. The successful candidate is expected to be flexible to meet project needs across tight timelines and manage multiple and changing priorities. Project deliverables and issues evolve, and change based on cost, schedule, and milestone challenges.
  • Ability to effectively deal with all stakeholders including Joint Venture Participants (JVPs) will be instrumental to success in this role.
  • Unique LNG Canada requirements can require flexible thinking and well-developed critical thinking skills.
  • Resilience with courage to hold strong to views when challenged or challenging others.

This role requires that you:

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
  • Know there will be planned overnight travel to Kitimat, BC, and potential international travel to Shell Services Centers in Inda and Philippines
  • Hybrid work schedule of two mandatory days in the office in the y Bow centre and work from home.
