Description

Circuit Stream is a leader in future technology skills training and learning content. We offer world-class educational services for teen and adult learners with a focus on the skills needed to leverage immersive and emerging technology.

We are seeking a passionate UX or Product Designer to teach our Product & UX Labs summer programs to learners aged 13-18 . Students will immerse themselves in the principles of design thinking, UX methodologies and user-centered design, while also delving into the intricacies of prototyping and wireframing software applications using Figma. The ideal instructor candidates for this course should possess a strong foundation in UX and product design, as well as some teaching, TA or training experience.

Product & UX Labs will be offered in-person at the UBC campus in Vancouver from July 29 - Aug 9 from 9am to 3pm PT. Interested candidates should be available for the full duration of this course. There are additional instructor opportunities available online for Fall/Winter that will be offered to the successful candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions with teen learners following the Digital Innovators: Product & UX Labs course curriculum
  • Showcase proficiency in UX and product design.
  • Provide constructive feedback, guidance, and mentorship to students as they ideate, develop, build and test a user-centric digital product prototype.
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
  • Grade assessments that accurately measure student understanding and progress within the course.

Requirements

  • Previous professional experience in UX Designer or Product Designer roles
  • Proficiency in User Experience Design, User Interface Design, design thinking principles, prototyping and testing
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • A strong portfolio of relevant work to showcase your skills and experience.
