Tasks:
  1. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
  2. Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems
  3. Instruct apprentices
  4. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
  5. Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  6. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
  7. Schedule personnel, tools and equipment
  8. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  9. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
  10. Supervise other workers
  11. Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
  12. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  13. Load, unload and transport construction materials
  14. Clean and pile salvaged materials

  • Security and safety Basic security clearance
  • Driving record check (abstract)
