Tasks:

1. Determine materials required
2. Interpret engineering drawings and others' instructions to plan methods and sequences of operation
3. Lay out reference points and patterns
4. Plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently
5. Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures
6. Weld or bolt sections together
7. Rig, hoist and move materials to storage areas or within worksite
8. Return defective products for repair or recycle
9. Monitor machine during operation
10. Mark defects to be repaired
11. Inspect assembled boats for defects and conformance to quality standards
12. Cut, shape and fit materials to form parts and components
13. Check manufactured items for defects and conformance to specifications
14. Change machinery attachments
15. Assemble prefabricated parts and sections of fibreglass, metal or other materials to form boats
16. Clean work area
