Reporting to theDirector of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist will play a keyrole in engaging and supporting managers and employees with a wide range of HRinitiatives, operational processes/procedures, specifically employee relationsand Health & Safety. The candidate must possess excellent communication,negotiation, conflict resolution, and time-management skills. The chosencandidate will serve as a first point of contact for the Human ResourceDepartment and work with the policies and procedures established by theMushkegowuk Council.
REQUIREMENTS
- Post-Secondary education in HumanResources, plus three (3) years of work-related experience in employeerelations, Health & Safety, and recruitment.
- CHRP designation an asset or workingtowards.
- Practical experience applying CanadaLabour Code, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Act, and OccupationalHealth & Safety Act.
- Practical experience on Health &Safety Committee.
- Knowledge of conflict resolutionpractices.
- Knowledge of WSIB and HR best practices.
- Practical experience of Human Resource ManagementSystem (HRMS) software.
- Exercise discretion, judgement, and highdegree of confidentiality in handling information.
- Must demonstrate a high level ofinitiative, self-direction and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and iCloudapplications or willing to learn.
