We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Director of Linehaul Operations for Midland. This position is accountable for staff performance management, safety, service, equipment utilization, profitability, and driver management. KPI oversight includes asset management, preventative maintenance, rate per mile, empty miles, miles per tractor, and on time service. This position also plays a key role in our customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the attainment of; budgeted cost, safety, service, quality, and utilization metrics for Linehaul operations.
• Responsible for managing direct reports to achieve or exceed budgeted performance.
• Accountable for the employee engagement achievement For Linehaul team.
• Responsible for demonstrating excellent leadership characteristics and the Irving Values.
• Responsible for the implementation of the Irving Management System and culture of continuous improvement for the Linehaul group.
• Responsible for the development, coaching and mentoring of direct reports.
• Accountable for the development and coaching of indirect reports for the Linehaul group.
• Responsible for the implementation of initiatives that have been assigned to. (Accountable for technical aspect and responsible leading change aspects)
• Responsible for working effectively with the sales and logistics departments to ensure Midland's business needs are met.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Strong strategic thinking and execution skills.
• Proven track record of developing and promoting talent and building effective teams; inspiring and motivating direct reports and colleagues to achieve superior results.
• Demonstrated ability to work with teams within and outside of direct control is a must.
• Self-directed, ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a timely manner.
• Effective communication style at all levels in the organization, a willingness to share information, and a collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
