Business Information: CGE Holdings Inc. located at the Iqaluit Arctic Winter Games Arena (AWG) is a year-round sports centre. It is operated as an ice arena from October to April and as an indoor sports field with artificial turf from May to September. The AWG Arena is the only NHL-sized ice surface in Nunavut.

Job Description:

• Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units
• Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs
• Load buspans and trays
• Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
• Place dishes in storage area
• Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas
• Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
• Scour pots and pans
• Keep records of the quantities of food used
• Package take-out food
• Portion and wrap foods
• Prepare, heat and finish simple food items
• Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
• Stock refrigerators and salad bars
• Take customers' orders
• Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
• Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
• Handle and store cleaning products
• Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash
• Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
• Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Estimate and order ingredients and supplies
• Empty grease from fryers and replenish

Requirements

Education: Some secondary school is required.

Experience: Not required. On-the-job training will be provided.

Ability to use conventional oven, deep fryer, electronic cash register, food dispensers, and grill is an asset.

Important information: Flexibility on schedule is required. The regular work schedule is from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, 6 days a week, including weekends. Overtime is required. The schedule includes one unpaid 1-hour lunch break and two paid 15-minute coffee breaks.
