Your Contribution

As an Intermediate Field Technician you will work in collaboration with the Soils and Materials Team:

  1. Undertaking geotechnical and construction quality control field testing and inspections (i.e. compaction, concrete, rebar, etc.) at various construction projects
  2. Undertaking logging of geotechnical drilling operations
  3. Assisting senior staff with various tasks required for multi-disciplinary projects including collection, preparation and testing of samples
  4. Setting up, performing tests and logging results in the field and laboratory
  5. Preparing factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor
  6. Consistently executing safe work practices and work plans while completing field, laboratory and office work
  7. Generating and assisting with preparation of deliverable documentation such as technical reports, summaries, data sheets, graphs, proposals and qualification packages
  8. Participating in project management, site and staff planning meetings
  9. Handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts
  10. Maintaining records of health and safety information, calibration certificates, equipment manuals and applicable standards
  11. Traveling out of town for extended periods of time to remote areas to fulfill field work responsibilities as required
Your Profile

Completion of provincially recognized Technologist program OACETT C.T. designation or equivalent experience;

  1. CCIL and CSA certifications an asset
  2. 5 plus years' experience in geotechnical and/or construction quality control laboratory and field testing
  3. Ability to travel between worksites for extended periods of time as required
  4. Possession of or ability to obtain a Security Clearance required
  5. A valid "G" Driver's license is required
  6. Demonstrated sensitivity and consideration for occupational health and safety
