As a Senior Accountant you will be a vital member of the Advisory and Assurance Team, reporting to the Partner. The individual will act as the senior professional completing audit engagements while supervising staff in the preparation of A & A engagements and assisting in the delivery of value-added services and solutions for our clients. Applies KRP's audit and accounting practices and methodologies on client engagements, applying appropriate professional skepticism Conducts financial statement audits using the various accounting frameworks applicable in Canada (IFRS, ASPE, NPO and/or Public Sector) with some manager guidance Prepares personal and corporate income tax returns with some manager guidance Obtains sufficient and appropriate audit/review evidence, addressing the relevant audit/review objectives and demonstrates how it relates to the rest of the audit/review, in order to demonstrate knowledge of basic assurance skills Documents the results of their work in accordance with the firm's requirements and where applicable, regulatory requirements/standards Performs financial and systems analysis Asks informed questions to further understand complex audit and accounting issues Minimizes routine errors in engagement performance Begins to assess the sufficiency and appropriateness of evidence and conclusions reached on an engagement by reviewing the working papers of junior staff and begins to participate in the evaluation of issues raised with the manager and partner CPA designation, or soon to be designated (successfully wrote the CFE), would be an asset Minimum 2 + years' experience in public practice with audit experience Senioring audit engagement would be an asset Working knowledge of CaseWare, Jazz-it and Tax Prep Exceptional time management and organizational skills, capable of multitasking various tasks, projects, and strategic improvement initiatives Three weeks' vacation (starting base) and office closure during winter holiday ~ 100% employer match on medical and dental benefits ~ Health spending account ~ On-site fitness center ~ A flexible and remote working model ~ A unique opportunity to build, grow, and leave your impact on a local firm We encourage qualified applicants of all backgrounds, including ethnicity, religion, disability status, gender identity, sexual orientation, family status, age, nationality, and education levels, to apply.
