Your responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and effective communication with the Controller and the Finance/Accounting team to outline and discuss the problems, and propose improvements.
  • Be a key partner in the direction of the business line by establishing measurable plans and objectives in order to support the business strategy.
  • Perform the month-end activities which include, but are not limited to: account and inventory analysis; account and balance reconciliations; creation, posting and review of the journal entries.
  • Support the planning and forecasting process for the activities of the sector of activity, and support the national guidelines.
  • Monitor, analyze, review, the capital assets and draw up reports on these.
  • Perform the analyses of activities related to inventory, standard costs, and other expenses related to the business unit.
  • Support business planning, establishments of the budget, and preparation of the financial reports, documents, and forecast presentations.
  • Ensure conformity between the business activities and the company's internal controls in accordance with the internal guidelines/procedures and the external regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and oversee adequate processes and tools to obtain reliable and quality financial and business data in accordance with defined standards and financial close schedules.
  • Assess the financial implications of various strategic decisions, identify risks, and recommend actions with a view to growth.
  • Optimize his or her own performance to improve productivity by implementing automated solutions, eliminating duplication, and coordinating information requirements.
Your background
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, administration, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in an accounting or financial analysis position.
  • Financial know-how, experience in problem solving, and analytical thinking.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Office (intermediate/advanced experience with Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Bilingualism (French and English). French is mandatory. English is required to communicate with clients outside of Québec on a regular basis.
