Job Overview
Int Geotechnical Engineer - Tailings
Our client is looking to appoint a Int geotechnical or geological engineer that can support technical design and review in construction services with particular knowledge and experience in mine tailings, slope stability and earthworks construction.
With an excellent reputation for technical expertise the client is looking for a strong academic foundation with 5+ years practical experience. You will be able to review designs and make decisions independently but should also have the ability to work in multi-disciplinary project teams on projects in remote and challenging environments.
Additional experience in site / ground improvement, construction and geotechnical designs would be a great asset and open up a variety of workload and long-term career progression
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical engineer supporting project clients and workload
- Embody the company culture of using your skills and experience to help support training, mentoring, and supervision of Junior staff
- Help support and organize field programs, including site investigation, construction, dam safety inspections
- Assist Senior Engineers with project and client management as required
- Projects will require travel to remote sites, on occasion for extended periods of time

Qualifications / Attributes
- Degree in Civil Engineer (a MSc or Phd in Geotechnical engineering or related specialisation desired)
- Tailings Management and Tailings Dam Design
- Well rounded geotechnical and geological knowledge
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills for internal and external clients
