Applications are invited for a Full-Time Professor, Social Service Worker, in the School of Community Services, Justice & Fitness Studies Division, located at the Welland Campus.
Reporting to the Associate Dean of the School of Community Services, this exciting role requires the successful candidates to provide an invitational learning environment to deliver a variety of specialist courses in the School of Community Services in Social Service Worker (SSW).

The Professor position is responsible for providing academic leadership and developing an effective learning environment for students. This includes designing, revising, and updating courses/curriculum; teaching assigned courses; consulting with contributors (faculty, community, and industry partners); defining course objectives and evaluating the extent to which students meet these objectives; utilizing a variety of instruction media /resources; and providing individualized instruction where necessary. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Education/Designation/Certifications:
• A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW)

Required Knowledge and Experience:
• Minimum five (5) years of practical and relevant industry experience
• Minimum two (2) years previous teaching experience at a post-secondary level or adult training experience
• Eligibility for registration in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
• Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same with students and colleagues
• Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, problem solving, analytical, and teamwork skills
• Evidence of commitment to student success and academic excellence
• Demonstrated networking/relationship building and liaising abilities

Preferred candidates may also possess:
• Experience in curriculum design and development
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
• Excellent written/oral communication, organizational, problem solving, analytical and teamwork skills
• Evidence of commitment to student success and academic excellence

In accordance with the provisions of the Academic Employees Collective Agreement first consideration shall be given to Internal employees. Internal employees are classified as Full time permanent or Partial Load staff within the Academic Bargaining Unit at the time of posting. In addition, those individuals who have been Partial Load staff within four months prior to the posting shall also be considered eligible to apply as internal candidates.
