Senior Estimator - Waterloo, ON

Our client in the Waterloo, ON region has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a Senior Estimator with Water & Sewer experience to join their growing team! This role will include estimating projects such as municipal construction, sewer and watermain installation, concrete works, earth moving, and more. Responsibilities

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for:

1. Preparing estimates and proposals for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work
2. Determining the total cost of construction project materials, equipment, utilities, and labor
3. Seeking estimates from vendors and subcontractors
4. Generating estimates from fundamental principles
5. Managing all stages of the tender process
6. Handling bid closings and proposal submissions
7. Facilitating the transition of projects to field operation teams
8. Maintaining a directory of suppliers and contractors
9. Establishing and nurturing professional relationships with subcontractors, construction personnel, supervisors, and the estimating team
10. Regularly reporting to Management and keeping clients updated on the project status

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

1. Minimum of 4 years working as an Estimator
2. Experience in estimating principles and practices; planning, execution, pricing, and vendor/subcontractor coordination
3. Experience estimating across Water and Sewer required
4. Capability of deriving cost calculations for all tender aspects
5. Proficiency in estimating package software
6. Knowledge of MTO advantageous, not required
