Diagnostics Engineering 12 month Contract London ON 24.00 – 33.50

Position Summary:
The diagnostic engineering contractor position involves researching, analyzing and creating troubleshooting procedures for Technical Manuals (TM) based on CAD models and engineering drawings. Day-to-day activities include:

  1. Gather information from Design and Reliability Engineering teams to understand vehicle systems and their maintenance requirements.
  2. Write diagnostic procedures in XML format compliant with industry standards.

Advantages:
- Collaborate with technical illustrators to generate graphics to support technical procedures.
- Conduct thorough quality checks and proofreading of documents to eliminate errors and ensure consistency with style guidance.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as engineers and vehicle technicians, to ensure accuracy of technical content.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be provided one-on-one training. This training includes, but is not limited to, overview of the vehicle system and operation, authoring software (XML), content management system, style/language-specific guidance, and ongoing mentorship by lead spare parts expert. The successful candidate will gain a detailed understanding of systems through experience in this role.

Qualifications Required:
- College diploma or university degree in a technical discipline.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings/schematics.
- Electrical or mechanical aptitude.
- A desire to put your technical diploma or degree into practical use.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality documentation.
- Effective organization, prioritization and time management skills.
- A bias for working independently in a collaborative environment.
- Willingness to learn technical skills as part of a highly skilled team.
- An openness to learn something new every day.
- Ability to travel (5% Canada or 5% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport.
- Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined space.
