Corporate Records Coordinator Temporary Full Time Schedule: 70 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM (Nine-Day Fortnight) The goal of the City of Burnaby and its employees is to consistently deliver first class service and services to our community. This is moderately complex clerical work related to the implementation and maintenance of a corporate records management system. An incumbent of this class provides information and assistance to departments in the performance of records management tasks to ensure compliance with records management standards and procedures; acts as a liaison regarding records management system use and related issues; participates in records management projects, and the delivery of training to departmental users; participates in the review and maintenance of data classifications systems to ensure they reflect current functions and activities and remain relevant; and assists with running records management system reports and data statistics as required for auditing the records management system. Considerable independent judgement and action are exercised within the framework of clearly defined policies and procedures while unusual or policy matters are referred to a supervisor who reviews performance for accuracy and conformance to established records management practices and procedures. Qualifications include Grade 12 supplemented by courses in records and information management, plus sound related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Sound knowledge of the corporate and departmental records management systems as it relates to the work performed and the software applications used in the work, and working knowledge of the operations, functions, and records and information requirements of city departments. Ability to provide information and assistance to municipal departments on procedures related to the corporate records management system, act as a liaison regarding records management system use and related issues, maintain a corporate records system in accordance with established standards and procedures, establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal contacts and consultants, and perform duties under minimal supervision. This is a Temporary Full Time position until December 31, 2024.
