A day in the life of a Cyber Security Specialist:

• You will provide support for security incidents and requests by monitoring alerts, owning and managing security incidents through to resolution, and resolving security requests in partnership with the team
• You will monitor network and system alerts, and own and manage network and system tickets through to warm handoff to the appropriate performance team member
• You will identify and understand technical challenges, implications of certain decisions and make educated trade-offs in terms of complexity, depth, or even timelines with your team
• You will adhere at all times to separation of duties between your role as a member of the security team that monitors the activities of privileged users, and privileged network and performance team members that use their privileges to resolve incidents and fulfill requests in the production environment
• You will provide quality customer service, including interacting with Westoba Credit Union employees, answering internal WCU inquiries, and escalating as necessary
• You will register and classify received incidents and service requests, escalating to appropriate resources and leadership
• You will undertake an immediate effort to address security issues in a timely fashion and execute time-sensitive operational tasks
• You will analyze security events, incidents, and problems to provide recommendations on action
• You will update staff and clients on the status of incidents and service requests at agreed intervals
• You will provide guidance and expertise on the best-in-class service for the organization's IT needs
• You will work with our Learning & Development team to ensure best practices and development of training completed for all staff and members

What you bring to the table:

• Formal post-secondary education in the field of Information Technology
• Five + years specializing in the field of Cyber Security
• Relevant certifications from Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA, and ITIL Foundation are considered an asset
• A full understanding of the OSI model
• A combination of education and experience will be considered
• A forward-thinker with a can-do attitude who can adapt to any situation

Pay range for this position is $63,568.85 - $77,820.01 annually. Pay is based on skills and experience.
