Knelsen Sand & Gravel Job Opportunity

Knelsen Sand & Gravel has a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to be a valued member and key contributor to our Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely ordering and delivery of inventory items while maintaining reporting systems and inventory information on the company's operating system. This position will provide support and assistance to members of the inventory team and all other related departments to maintain a high level of overall customer service. This position requires call service.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
  1. Action purchasing reports according to assigned vendors / users to ensure required items are ordered promptly.
  2. Issue & expedite open purchase order lines with assigned vendors. Providing limited input into changes of the ERP and other software system(s) but does provide some testing of the system from time-to-time during implementation.
  3. Maintain and manage min/max set-ups in operating system to maximize inventory efficiencies and customer service levels.
  4. Update and maintain system purchase order expectant dates.
  5. Support internal customer inquiries for delivery requests including vendor sourcing for new products.
  6. Ensuring compliance to procedures and standards, commercial issue resolution, payment validation, and achieving the required outcomes within a reasonable time limit.
  7. Assist with supplier pricing updates and understand the process for their completion.
  8. Investigate vendor shipment delays and discrepancies and enter claims as necessary.
  9. Track, organize and disperse receiving paperwork for incoming material & services in the computer systems.
  10. Provide assistance to other members of the purchasing/inventory control team and other departments as required.
  11. Managing & Booking Hotels
  12. Other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager.
  13. On call during weekdays & weekends.
Education and/or Experience:

Purchasing experience or a formal Purchasing education is considered an asset.

Other Skills and Qualifications:
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Administrative skills with a strong history of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Able to maintain internal and external customer relations in person, through emails and over the telephone.
  • Customer service oriented (internal and external customers)
  • Basic knowledge of Construction, Heavy Equipment Parts lines, and manufacturing is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of construction, manufacturing, and warehousing is considered an asset.
