Your role

This role leads the development and administration of a program aimed at implementing the Animal Protection and Control Act and its associated regulations throughout the Yukon. The individual in this position will manage partnerships, agreements, and contracts with community and First Nations' governments, while also overseeing funding arrangements to guarantee the effective delivery of essential services. Additionally, they will contribute to policy development and oversight of delegated authorities, and help shape the future of animal welfare in the Territory.

Essential Qualifications (what we're looking for in your resume):

· Degree or Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in: Agriculture, Livestock Extension, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Project Management, Conservation or Natural Resource Enforcement, or a related field.

· Experience in developing, managing, and delivering significant programs or initiatives (through partnerships, regulatory and/or educational components is preferred.)

· Experience facilitating collaborative agreements and partnerships with diverse stakeholders (First Nation governments and/or regulatory agencies is preferred.)

· Experience in policy analysis (or related roles) with focus on implementing legislated programs (e.g., Compliance promotion, livestock extension, etc.)

· Experience in program administration (e.g., program evaluation and reporting) and financial operations (e.g., Contracts and budget management).

Assets you can bring to, or acquire in this position:

· Subject matter expertise in Animal Welfare or a related field.

Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
