Primary Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate automatic cutting machine and glass loader.
• Break out of glass, safe disposal of trims and storage of off cuts;
• Cut glass manually on manual cutting table as required;
• Verify all cut glass and placed on carts, dollies or harp racks as required;
• Ensure recuts are processed in time as per priority;
• Maintain record of production; Notify leadhand immediately of any equipment or quality problems;
• Clean the area safely following any glass breakage;
• Measure cut glass with tape to verify dimensions and observe glass for irregular breaks and uneven edges Inspects all glass for manufacturing defects, handling damage, good edge deletion; Make machine adjustment if needed;
• Perform regular equipment checks and preventive maintenance Remove and replace worn cutter heads, using hand tools;
• Ensure glass is handled as per the safety procedures; Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times;
• Any other duties assigned by the leadhand/Plant Manager.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

• Highschool Diploma or equivalent
• Need to have at least 2+ yeas of glass cutter experience
• Windows & Doors industry experience is an asset
• Familiarity with glass types (Clear, coated glass pattern glass):
• Strong understanding of cutting pattern glass and measure;
• Positive working attitude Strong ability to work independently and a part of a team;
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
