Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 37.5 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday

Reason the role is open? Extended platform support and projects, volume of work increase
What project will this contractor be working on? Primarily on Centralised Log Management
Who Will the Candidate Be Working with on a Daily Basis? The CLM team, 6-7 people that support and maintain the platform

Job Description:
You can demonstrate 5+ years of hands-on experience and knowledge in information security solutions and technologies as well as a pulse on innovative technology; Technical experience with: Linux/Unix commands, shell, Python scripting, API integrations, implementation and configuration of security tools such as log management and SIEM platforms.
You have strong knowledge of: security space, application delivery life cycle (agile, waterfall, Scrum, code/application promotion), JIRA, code version control systems. You are an expert troubleshooter and problem solver and have experience in production systems support and incident resolution
Must Have Requirement:
• Programming/scripting in python bash, perl, unix shell.
• Strong Linux user & Sysadmin knowledge
• Experience in Cybersecurity tools support and deployment
• Solid understanding of networking and security concepts, TCP, SSL,TLS, SSH, authentication, CURL
• Understanding of Cloud Computing
• Experience with Azure deployments, registrations, authentication, integrations a +.
• Experience with Git an asset.
• Experience with Ansible an asset.
• agile, waterfall, Scrum, code/application promotion
• JIRA
General Summary:
The main function of a Systems Engineer is to perform a wide variety of installation, configuration and upgrading of servers and related hardware and software in a LAN, WAN and stand-alone environment, providing investigation, diagnostic testing and repair/resolution of system, hardware, software and infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:
• Complete configuration, installation and support of equipment to the specifications of the business • Maintain software applications and operating systems through regular maintenance • Maintain configuration and support documentation • Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives • Supervise the administration of systems and servers to ensure availability of services to authorized users • Maintain multi-site network operations, software applications, operating systems through regular maintenance • Troubleshoot malfunctions of hardware, software applications and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required • 5-7 years experience required • Broad knowledge of IT Systems engineering • Experience with system capacity and planning, as well as functional configuration and audit • Experience with system planning and capacity tools and analyses
