As our Business Analyst , you will play a pivotal role in supporting our strategic business initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass collecting and analyzing financial data, gathering market intelligence, and generating insightful reports crucial to driving sales and informed decision-making. You will manage the sales data for investing and underwriting, building dashboards, charts and KPIs for the Company Scorecard and will make recommendations to improve the reporting of the information.

HOW DO YOU FIT IN?

The successful individual will have the following experience, education, and ability to develop these demonstrated skills:

  • Post Secondary degree in Finance or Economics
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in financial analysis, with a focus on data analysis and visualization
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Power BI
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong ability to Utilize available data sources and software to assemble and create reports.
  • Knowledge of database design and SQL for querying large datasets is an asset.
  • Ability to work with different types of data sources including structured and unstructured data.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to rapidly understand the business objectives and present solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to see the high level view and get into the detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work professionally and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines, and to work independently and as part of a team
  • an interest in becoming an expert in the industry, continuously keeping abreast of the changes in the software and technology including artificial intelligence and other technological advancements

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

75% - Data Analyst Activities

  • Support the overall business through research and data analysis.
  • Analyze financial data and develop insight to drive business decisions with a focus on financial and operational data
  • Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that provide meaningful insight to management and stakeholders
  • Build and analyze the companyâ€s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and develop and summarize charts and trends for the monthly Balanced Scorecard
  • Gather data on the current underwriting and fundraising activities.
  • Use customer relationship management programs (CRMs) and Microsoft Power BI to pull reports and deliver the summarized data to management.
  • Review the data entered in the CRMs for accuracy and quality control.
  • Performing market research and analysis. Research competition and market trends and create reports to help assist management in decision-making.
  • Analyze and evaluate risks and opportunities in the real estate and economic markets in which CHMIC lends.
  • Propose solutions to improve established processes and resources.
  • Provide data, charts as needed for broker, investor or lender presentation material
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and different scenarios to support business initiatives and strategic projects, with a focus on both high-level and detailed analysis
  • Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders, with the ability to bridge business processes to the system and financial statements.

25% - Administration

  • Work with peers and departments
  • Coordinate group activity.
  • General market research
  • Ad hoc assignments as requested by management
  • Comply with regulations including but not limited to Real Estate Act, Privacy Act, Securities Act, Business Corporations Act, Fair Trading Act/Consumer Protection Act, (all legislation and regulation in all provinces we do business in) etc..
  • Electronic file management. Keep electronic files current.
  • Attend scheduled meetings, keep meeting notes, and report follow-up activities to the team.
  • Perform data cleansing and data transformation techniques to ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Personal development through formal and informal education.
