Join us!Job SummaryAre you passionate about shaping the foundation of data-driven decision-making? We are seeking a skilled Expert Data Modeler to join our talented team. The role of the Expert Data Modeler is to lead the collection of business requirements to be translated into efficient data structures, while ensuring data integrity and usability. A core responsibility of this role is to design, implement, and maintain data models that serve as the backbone of our organization's data infrastructure. You will also be a key contributor of a center of excellence to set data design standards for the practice. The Expert Data Modeler brings technical expertise to ensure data integrity, quality and accuracy.Main ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and translate complex business data and analytics requirements to lead the hands-on creation of conceptual, logical and physical data modelsLead the definition of source to target mappings to describe data transformationsAssess and produce data analytics artefacts including data model, mapping, data flows, data lineage, metadata documentation and transformations, ensuring the integration in the technical architecture and the alignment with data quality and governance guidelinesPerform profiling and data analysis using advance SQL / Python techniques on multiple platforms, including Databricks, Netezza, SQL-Server, Oracle, etc.Participate in the delivery and support of data quality, data consolidation and data migration initiativesPerform design reviews and improve the effectiveness of data design and managementLead the data analytics design practice by defining and maintaining standards and best practicesProvide guidance, onboarding and mentorship to new data designersLead the troubleshooting of data issues within the business and present solutions and recommendationsCollaborate with various stakeholders including Architecture, Data Engineers, Product Management, DBAs, Infrastructure and Data Governance teamsRequirementsEducation and experienceBachelor's degree specializing in Mathematics and Statistics / Computer Science / Business Analytics / or other quantitative field, related degree or equivalent experience10 years and more overall work experienceMinimum 5 years of data design and data modeling experienceStrong experience in requirements gathering, process analysis and workflow modelingExperience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvementExperience in leading and participating in business workshops and business presentationsSkills and CompetenciesExperience with data design tools (Erwin Data Modeler r12.5 or similar version)Experience with dimensional modeling and relational database modeling techniquesAdvanced SQL skills to support data profiling, unit testing and data extractionExperience in a Data Lake, Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence or relevant data environmentProficiency working with Azure Data Lake (ADLS), Azure Data Factory and DatabricksExperience working with DevOps CI/CD, Azure DevOps or GitHubExposure to data modeling and data architecture best practicesExpert ability to identify data gaps and assess end-to-end data requirementsAbility to learn quickly, problem solve/troubleshoot, work independently or in a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse groupAssetsExperience in real time data streaming and loadingExperience modelling data for data science projectsExperience working with Scale Agile Methodology (SAFe)Experience with semi-structured and unstructured dataFamiliar with Data Lakehouse architectureThis position is posted as a grade LEVEL 7.
